Dr. Vajira Seneviratne!

OPROMA Cosmetics (Pvt) Ltd. the pleasure to announce that Dr. Vajira Seneviratne has been appointed Consultant, Ayurvedic Product Development Project. Having over thirty years of clinical, research, teaching and industry experiences in Ayurveda, pharmaceutical sciences and natural product chemistry, Dr. Seneviratne will significantly enhance the R&D capacity of the company.

Dr. Seneviratne is a highly qualified graduate with a variety of impressive qualifications; BAMS (Hons), Pharm Dp (Hons), PGDHD and MD (Ayu) in Pharmacology, the University of Colombo. He has worked in various capacities as Medical Consultant and Scientist- Drug Research in the Ayurveda Research Institute, Ministry of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka and as consultant to international organisations and multinational companies.

The areas of interest of Dr. Seneviratne are the following:

• Formulation design and development of natural product chemistry.
• Introductions of new products and clinical phase experiments on natural products.
• Cgmp, drug regulatory affairs, USP, BP and iso compliance.
• Medicine control.
• Evidence based-ayurveda and clinical pharmacology.

His work has been recognised both in his country and internationally as he has received various awards of prestige which include:

• National Productivity Award (2007) Medium Scale Services, Southern Province.
• Keerthi Sri Deshabandu National Excellency Award (2014) -National Peace Association (SL), UN.
• Vaidya Rathna Award (2016) International Asia Ayurveda Medicine Research Award India.
• Honorary Excellent Participant Award (2018) Seminar TCM and Drugs, China.
• Griffith University, Australia./SCA Award, Nutrition & Food Security.
• SCA Award Nutrition and Food Security Griffith University Australia.

Dr. Vajira Seneviratne will be leading and advising our Ayurvedic product-development efforts, which will ensure that our products embody a combination of allure, tradition and scientific substantiation. His knowledge of the area of herbal pharmacology, his exacting clinical practice, and regulatory expertise will allow the development of new generations of effective and safe Ayurvedic skincare and haircare preparations that fulfil the standards of international quality.

We strongly believe that the vast experience and vision driven approach of Dr. Seneviratne will contribute immensely towards our effort to create global leading cosmetic products building on the Ayurvedic legacy.
